Shots!

Theo had is first round of shots on April 24th at his 8 week check-up. I felt so bad for the little guy. He was being so good-"flirting" and cooing with the nurses, then they stuck him in both legs at the same time. He smile turned to a frown, then his face turned beat red...about 5 seconds later he began to scream...with tears. Then my eyes got watery because I felt so horrible for him. He cried and cried for 10 minutes and wouldnt settled down. I finally decided to nurse him and that helped a lot.

Theodore is doing great...very healthy! He weighs 12 lbs 11 oz now which is in the 68th percentile and he is 24 inches long which is in the 85th percentile. I guess that means he is getting chunky, and believe me he is! It is CUTE!

2 months old!

Teddy is 2 months old now. He smiles ALL of the time, it is so adorable. He also has realized the dog now...before I dont think he ever really knew what it was. Now he recognizes him and it brings an instant smile to his face.

He almost slept through the night last night. 11:00 to 4:00, I suppose that is a pretty long stretch compared to what he is used to.

Tomorrow is his 2 month Dr. Appt. We are excited to see how much he has grown, and hopefully he will handle the shots okay.

A new post, FINALLY!

I am not sure what happened but these pictures are out of order...

Theo 1 week, theo b-day

Theo 6 weeks, theo 5 weeks
4weeks, 3 weeks

And, theo 2 weeks old.

I realize it has been quite a while since the last blog update for the Nixon's. I wanted to jump back on the band wagon and get things going again on this blog- so here I go.

The big news is that we had our baby! Theodore Everett Nixon was born on February 23 at 3:08pm. I am sure everyone knows that. He was born by c-section and was 10 days late-YIKES! He is healthy and happy (most of the time) and growing like a weed. We are so glad the long journey for a baby is finally over. It was such a long emotional road full of ups and downs for us, but we couldn't be happier or feel more blessed with the outcome...Little Teddy, the cutest little baby boy ever. We wouldn't change any of it for the world and it definitely made us stronger as a couple.

We already have people asking us, "when is it time for the next baby?" All I can say is don't hold your breath...we figured out that I was pregnant a total of 67 weeks from the first pregnancy to the time Theo was born- which is just way too much time to be pregnant, especially with all the morning sickness.

Theodore will be 8 weeks old tomorrow! He smiles and coos all of the time, and he has even started to laugh every now and then. He still looks just like daddy with the big eyes and lips. And he is even a drooler- just like daddy. He has started to outgrow most of his 0-3 month clothes...especially the outfits with footies, so we have started to make the move into 3-6 month clothes! Okay that is boring- no one probably care what size his clothes are. I will just post some pictures now!
More to come on the blog now that we are back in the swing of things!

Tummy pics!

I think these "tummy pics" were all taken sometime between weeks 30-32.

Gingerbread House

In celebration of the Christmas season we made a gingerbread house. We actually made two houses and put them together so it was a bigger house. Michael has been picking candy off the roof so it doesn't look quite as good as it used to.

Duke's 1st Birthday!

On Friday, December 15th we celebrated Duke's (our dog) first birthday! We had Michael's friend bring over his dog, Chopper and they played together all night. Duke also got groomed in celebration of his first year at PetCo.

3-d Ultrasound

On December 1st we had a 3-d ultrasound. It went pretty well. But, the baby was asleep with one arm across his face and the other arm behind his head, and he wasn't moving for anything so it made it difficult to get good shots. Here are some of the images we got. Most didn't scan in very well, but this is the best we could do.

He looks great though, very healthy and still measuring a little bigger and very long. They could tell he has long legs by measuring his femur bone.

We decided he for sure has michaels lips. And you cant tell on the 3-d pics because it just looks like wrinkles, but on the 2-d ultrasound the first thing the technician pointed out was all of his hair!

We Will Miss You, Grandpa!

Last Tuesday, My grandpa died after a long battle with lung cancer. We will miss him so much but we will never forget him. He was a one-of-a-kind grandpa. We always had a great time when he was around. Some of my greatest memories of him are at the Lake, when he would take us fishing, taught us how to waterski, windsurf and sail.

We didnt know just how fast his death was approaching, but I think he had some idea. He made sure to talk to everyone individually at Thanksgiving, which was the last time he was with the entire family together. He even made sure to talk to my belly.

We love you, Grandpa!
